ATM News Network: Aiming to make India's digital economy more inclusive, useful and secure for every Indian, the eighth edition of Google for India was launched in the presence of Union Minister of Railways, Communications and Electronics, Information and Technology Ashwini Vaishnav and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai. On this occasion, the belief was expressed that artificial intelligence will help in raising the standard of living of Indian citizens from agriculture to healthcare.
"We are working on a robust artificial intelligence model," Pichai said. Information can be found in thousands of languages through this model. Artificial intelligence will play an effective role in getting more responses.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that artificial intelligence will make a significant difference in agriculture, which is one of the many sectors. Another thing is that the language gap can be bridged. Also, loans can be made available to people at the bottom of the development cycle.
Google India Country Head and Vice President Sanjay Gupta and Google India Research Director Manish Gupta were present on the occasion. Sanjay Gupta explained about India's technological development and how artificial intelligence is helping the world complete its digital transformation journey.
Manish Gupta said that technology leader Google is working on a model to promote digital agriculture in the country and help identify agricultural land. This landscape understanding model has been developed in Bangalore and is being piloted in Telangana. It can detect natural and artificial water bodies as well as agricultural land. This model will be able to recognize the other operations in the field from sowing.
Elizabeth Reid, vice president of Google Search, said that the number of internet users in India has doubled in the last five years. Among all countries, India has the highest number of Google Lens users. The search features will include several Indian languages including Hindi to facilitate users who speak different local languages. In future this feature will be in Tamil, Telugu, Marathi and Bengali.
